In 2024, the Olympia Dragon Boat Club took a chance and decided it was time to bring dragon boat racing back to town. After many years away, paddlers came back to Olympia's Port Plaza for a sunny day of fun and excellent competition.
The Olympia Dragon Boat Festival had a fantastic inaugural year, with attendees from all around the northwest. Festival goers remarked on the beauty of the race location, the convenient facilities, and the great energy and support of our volunteers. Everyone had such a great time - we decided we had to keep in going!
As the Olympia Dragon Boat Club grows and gains experience, we hope to make this event bigger and better, while ensuring that things are as smooth and enjoyable as possible. We hope you'll join us.
