The Olympia Dragon Boat Club is small but mighty - as is our club mascot - the mighty SEA OTTER! If you're ready to join us, we'd love to have another otter on board.
Why join the club?
By joining the Olympia Dragon Boat Club as an annual member, you gain access to all of our scheduled events and activities throughout the year. As a non-profit club, we rely on membership dues to pay for equipment and moorage for the boats. You annual membership helps keep the lights on, and (hopefully) helps us grow and expand our little club, so that we can do more activities and events each year!
Also, it's a REALLY good group of folks, so you get to be part of that as well. 😉 Whether you're joining for the activity, or to make new friends, the Olympia Dragon Boat Club would love to have you.
Do I need my own gear to join?
Absolutely not! We've got club gear (paddles, PFDs) that are always at your disposal. Many members start off with club gear and later decide on any equipment they'd like to own.
We'll be honest - it's fun to pick out the paddle of your dreams, or to find the *perfect* PFD, but we also love the fact that you don't need to buy anything to start paddling with us! (...but if you want to talk shop, our members will gladly geek out about gear if/when you're ready, lol)
Work hard, play hard.
While club membership is (obviously) a whole lot of paddling in the boat, it's also more than that. We come together every now and then to give our boats a little TLC to remove the abundant sea life that takes root. (And of course, we'll go for a paddle in the freshly cleaned boats afterwards!)
Beyond that, we also rely on member involvement to do really cool things like hosting the Olympia Dragon Boat Festival! We're always on the lookout for involved members who want to help shape this awesome event. Can we count you in?
What does it cost?
Our annual membership dues are $200/year. That's it. We want to keep the club as affordable as possible, so we try to keep the cost low. We even offer monthly payments, if that's easier for your budget!
We want you on the water with us, so if you've got questions or concerns, just drop us a line, and we'll be glad to get creative with you about sponsored memberships, etc. Just drop us a line!
